Real Estate Investor, Single and Slaying it!

There is an added element of risk when you take the steps to buy something big, such as a home, car or investment property. It terrifies some and yet also gives you a sense of empowerment.

It felt so great to buy a house by myself with no help. Just me. I had thought about acquiring rental properties once I was divorced but I wasn’t sure if I would get approved on my own. I mean, I knew I had what it took but would the world know?
I reached out to a lender and was preapproved the next day!

I owned the house I was living in and needed to find a renter. That wasn’t too difficult because an employee of mine and her new husband really wanted to move out of their apartment and into a home with a garage and yard. I did my due diligence and found that they appeared to be a good fit to rent the house. Typically, I don’t rent to family or anyone in my inner circle but this time it worked out very well.

The real estate market was heading toward a boom in 2019 and I got in just in time.
I knew what I wanted and found the perfect house for me. It’s a 3 bedroom, 1.5 baths, 2 car garage, fenced-in backyard for my 2 fur babies, covered back deck, and a beautifully remodeled kitchen. What else does this girl want?

To some, it may not be a big deal, but to me it was huge! I was an investor, single woman, and starting my new life, life of endless opportunities, single and slaying it, alone but not lonely, and real estate rockstar. These were all names I called myself.
This is when I decided to put my relationship status as “Independent” on Facebook because with my new purchase and one home added to my investment portfolio made me feel independent and I wanted the world to know.
