Each and every one of us has a burning in our hearts for something, or a few things, that push us to unimaginable places. It is what drives us, moves us and gives us the energy to keep going.
We all have a unique calling that separates our focus from everyone else’s and naturally what keeps us connected as human beings.
I don’t believe in competing with one another in terms of life. I believe in using what drives us and finding out how to use that drive for everyone’s benefit. (Including your own)
I’ve always been a passionate individual and have a difficult time containing the feeling once it comes to the surface. There have been times when I didn’t realize I was passionate about a specific topic or movement until the conversation started. That has always been a cool revelation to me!
That leads me to ask this question: How can one decide what sticks and what is meant to be passed through?
Personally, there is one passion in my life that has stuck with me starting in my late 20’s and to this day I can’t contain my love for real estate! Do I love it for the money? No! I love it because it changes lives. I see this every day in the faces of renters, homeowners, property managers, investors, wholesalers, realtors and so many more. Real estate is instrumentally more than,
“Oh! So you’re a real estate agent.”
This is an industry that affects everyone in some way and that excites me! I can’t shake the feeling of how much I love real estate and have for the last 18 years, even though I’ve worked in the real estate industry for 9 years. Obviously, this is a passion and calling of mine that will continue.
Now that I am discovering new avenues, needs, and opportunities, I am recognizing passion for more than real estate. This is where the learning and discerning are kicking in. I feel as if we acquire these passions for a period of time that can be used for a specific purpose and it is up to us to know when that purpose has been fulfilled and when it is time to move on.
I do not discredit anyone’s unique calling because I don’t know what their journey entails. There is no rhyme or reason with our pragmatic minds as to why we feel passionate or have a certain gift but please don’t ignore that feeling. It is there to be used and shared, no matter how big or small.
This is what I wrote when inspiration came to me one evening:
Passion is within me and I embrace it.
Passion gets me out of bed, creates energy, opens my mind, softens my heart, & generates inspiration.
Passion shines through me, helps me connect, opens up conversations, the energy is felt through people around me, it draws people in and keeps me alive! -Beth
Is there any logic to passion? Not really but what does it matter if it feels good plus benefits you and every life you touch?
Find your passion. Feel your passion. Live your passion.
